Ledyard, Connecticut USA, September, 2005 - The Rotary Club of Ledyard completed a successful fund raising campaign to support Hurricane Katrina Relief at the Ledyard Fair in September 2005. The Ledyard Rotary Club sold Del’s Lemonade with all proceeds to benefit the Hurricane Relief efforts. The profits for the weekend totaled just over $1700 and the member’s donated club funds to make the final tally $2000 for the weekend. The Ledyard Rotary Club then made $500 donations to the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army. The remaining funds are being distributed to assist displaced families who have arrived in Ledyard with the purchase of clothing and other essential items. Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
